Our Services in Lucas

Drain Cleaning &Unclogging

A slow drain might seem like no big deal — until it completely stops and now your kitchen smells like swamp water. If your sink’s gurgling, your tub won’t empty, or your toilet’s bubbling like a science experiment, it’s time to bring in the pros. We handle all kinds of drain issues in Lucas, TX, from hairballs and grease clogs to deeper blockages way down the line. We use pro-grade tools that clear your drains without tearing anything up, so everything flows better and lasts longer. Say goodbye to slow drains — we’ll keep things moving.

General PlumbingRepairs & Maintenance

You know those little plumbing problems you’ve been ignoring for months? The ones that seem harmless until your hallway turns into a slip-n-slide? Yeah, we fix those. Whether it’s a leaky valve, a running toilet, or pipes that sound like they’re haunted, we’re the team in Lucas, TX that gets it fixed the right way. We’re big on prevention too — so if you want your plumbing to last and avoid the big, pricey problems, we can set up a maintenance plan that keeps things in check year-round. No stress, just working plumbing.

Whole HomeWater Filtration

Water in Lucas can be… hit or miss. One week it tastes fine, the next it smells like a public pool. If you’re tired of dealing with hard water spots, dry skin, or funky-tasting tap water, a whole-home filtration system makes a huge difference. We install customized setups that treat all the water coming into your home — not just one faucet. That means cleaner showers, better laundry, longer-lasting appliances, and yeah, actual drinkable water. Whether you're in Lucas or a nearby spot, we’ll help you ditch the bottled water for good.

CommercialPlumbing

Plumbing problems don’t take a day off, and if you’re running a business in Lucas, TX, neither can you. A clogged drain in a restaurant or a leaking pipe in a storefront can cost you time and money fast. We help businesses stay up and running with commercial plumbing services that are fast, reliable, and built for heavy use. Whether it’s a quick repair, regular maintenance, or something bigger like a new install, we handle it all without disrupting your day-to-day. We get in, get it done, and let you get back to work.

Hydro JettingServices

If you’ve been dealing with slow drains or backups that keep coming back no matter how many times you snake them, it’s probably time for hydro jetting. This is the kind of deep clean your pipes only dream about. We use high-pressure water to blast away grease, gunk, roots, and whatever else is stuck in there — all without damaging your plumbing. It’s fast, it’s super effective, and it makes a huge difference in how your system performs. If you’re in Lucas and tired of repeating the same drain issues, let’s clear it up for good.

PlumbingInspections

Most plumbing issues start small — a tiny crack, a bit of rust, or a loose fitting — but they turn into big problems if no one catches them. That’s where a proper inspection comes in. Whether you're buying a new place, selling, remodeling, or just haven’t had your system looked at in a while, our plumbing inspections in Lucas, TX give you the full picture. We check everything from top to bottom and give you a no-BS rundown of what’s working, what needs attention, and how to keep everything running smooth.

Plumber tried to scare us because he saw us an easy mark since we’re seniors. Didn’t attempt to remove an outside facet from the outside and cut through the Sheetrock inside. When repairing the toilet leak, tried to say we didn’t have vent pipe and suggested we needed to let him remove concrete floor around the toilet. It impressed by his work or ethics.

Questions Lucas Homeowners Ask Us

How often should a septic tank be replaced?

Not often. A well-maintained septic tank can last decades, with concrete tanks often lasting 40 years or more. Replacement usually happens because of cracks, corrosion, root damage or a failing drain field, not age alone. Pumping every three to five years, depending on household size and system type, is the best way to extend its life. Aerobic systems also need regular service checks.

How much is slab leak detection?

Cost depends on the size of the home, how many lines need testing and the methods used, such as pressure testing, acoustic listening equipment or thermal imaging. A single obvious leak is quicker to find than several small ones. Finding the leak precisely saves money on repairs because it limits how much concrete or flooring is opened. On The Way Plumbing offers free estimates for leak detection and repair.

What are the signs of high water pressure?

Common signs include banging pipes when faucets shut off (water hammer), dripping faucets, running toilets, leaks at fittings, noisy appliances and water heaters or washers that wear out early. Sprinkler heads and hoses may also fail more often. An inexpensive hose-bib pressure gauge gives you a reading; many plumbers aim for roughly 40-80 PSI. A pressure-reducing valve can bring it down.

Do homes in Lucas use septic systems or city sewer?

Septic is common in Lucas. Collin County enforces septic (OSSF) rules inside Lucas city limits, and new homes need county septic approval before their final inspection. If you're on septic, keep grease, wipes and harsh chemicals out of your drains and stay on a regular pumping schedule. Gurgling drains or soggy spots in the yard can point to a septic problem worth checking.

Do I need a permit for plumbing work in Lucas?

Many jobs do. The City of Lucas handles permits through its Development Services department and the MyGovernmentOnline portal, and plumbing rough-in is a required inspection on new work. Requirements vary by job, so check with Development Services before starting projects like water heater replacement, repiping or gas line work. A licensed plumber can usually take care of the permit for you.
